3G Live Cast is a 3G mobile video application that belongs to the Veedia Mobile Video Solutions platform. 3G Live Cast enables journalists to broadcast live news events to TV stations, without the need for a mobile unit.

By suiting up with any 3G mobile phone or 3G enabled device with the video call feature, street reporters have all they need to transmit a live news story from the streets. Using the video call feature on their 3G phone and the built-in Webcam and microphone, they are automatically equipped with a camera and microphone. By simply placing a standard 3G video call and using the built-in Webcam and microphone, they can automatically record and stream any event in real time to a Web server for Internet users or the TV stations directly from their 3G phone.

The biggest advantage of 3G Live Cast is mobility. Reporters are able to report on any unexpected event or situation that occurs, and are also able to broadcast in places that are difficult for TV mobile units to reach.

How it works

A reporter discovers a spontaneous event they consider to be newsworthy
She quickly takes out her 3G mobile device, activates the Video Reporter service and immediately begins recording a live news story
The video is streamed in real time to a Web server and is broadcast live on TV or stored for editing at the station
The story is successfully reported

Broadcast from the front row. In circumstances when there is an excessive amount of media present at an event, the reporter can easily slip in front of the other reporters and the heavy ENG cameras of other mobile units, to tell the story from the front row.
